We are delighted to announce two upcoming Skillsoft Leadercamps in August!

First up is “Critical Thinking for Relational Leadership—Mind Your Heart” with Ludmila N. Praslova, Ph.D., SHRM-SCP on August 10, 2022 (12:00 PM – 1:00PM). Ludmila is a future-of-work, organizational culture and inclusion strategist with extensive experience in global diversity, belonging, leadership, and employee wellbeing.

Workplace relationships are anything but soft-skills or trust-your-gut exercise. Instead, they require critical thinking and the knowledge to override common myths and pop-psychology misconceptions. In this Leadercamp, Ludmila Praslova debunks several myths about relational leadership.

Next is "Working In Harmony With All Personalities," featuring Joe Shaffner on August 30, 2022 (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET).

Joe Shaffner is a professional development and leadership consultant based in the Triangle area in North Carolina and Western Maine. He has more than 30 years’ corporate experience in building and leading successful teams in fast-paced businesses around the world. In this Leadercamp, Joe Shaffner will show you how to manage yourself to avoid interpersonal conflicts, recognize situations that may provoke conflict at work, understand the dynamics of working with different types of personalities, and learn some of the skills required for managing conflicts in the workplace.

We are excited to introduce the brand new courses that will be available in the upcoming months. The Wellness course - Managing and Supporting Employee Wellness is intended to educate learners about the skills required to manage employee wellness. Problem Solving courses such as Problem Solving: Defining and Stating the Problem, Problem Solving: Generating Solutions, and Problem Solving: Choosing and Implementing the Right Solution are designed to help learners understand how to solve problems. These Problem Solving courses covers the following set of learning goals:

  • Learn how to conduct a root cause analysis to identify the core problem.
  • Write a problem statement to describe the problem clearly.
  • Learn different ways to generate solutions to business problems.
  • Identify the information you need to gather and find out how to brainstorm creatively and productively.
  • Recognize potential pitfalls on the way to generating solutions, and how to avoid them.
  • Evaluate and refine your list of solutions.
  • Explore approaches for analyzing and evaluating alternative solutions to find the one that best solves your problem.
  • Identify the appropriate criteria for choosing the right solution as well as how to apply best practices for implementing that solution.
  • Learn techniques for maximizing the benefit of solutions after they're implemented.

On August 9th, Skillsoft commemorates the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples in an effort to promote and protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples worldwide. The day also recognizes their contributions towards nature and their efforts on global environmental preservation. To honor Indigenous Peoples cultures, customs, and traditions, the Skillsoft Leadership and Business Content team invites you to watch, read, or listen to one of our various resources on Indigenous Peoples.

Our virtual book club, OFF THE SHELF features a bookshelf anyone can leverage to celebrate International Day of the World’s indigenous Peoples all month long.

Additionally, the OFF THE SHELF monthly selection is Saving Face: How to Preserve Dignity and Build Trust by Maya Hu-Chan (Berrett-Koehler, © 2020).

Organizations now need to attract, retain, and motivate teams and employees across distance, time zones, and cultural differences. Building authentic and lasting human relations may be the most important calling for leaders in this century. According to management and global leadership specialist Maya Hu-Chan, the concept of "saving face" can help any leader preserve dignity and create more empathetic cross-cultural relationships.

Saving Face is available on Percipio as a digital book and an audiobook.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have 43 new Skill Benchmarks for July, August, and September as shown below:
