Leadership & Business Roadmap LGBTQ+ Pride Month – June 2022

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall riots of 1969 with the goal of achieving equal justice and equal opportunity for LGBTQ+ Americans. Here at Skillsoft, the theme for 2022 Pride Month is Learn/ Love/ Lead in support of GLSEN. The month raises awareness and educates the general public about issues affecting the LGBTQ+ population worldwide. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or as an Ally, the Skillsoft Leadership and Business Content team invites you to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month with us by watching, reading, or listening to one of our many LGBTQ+ Community resources.

OFF THE SHELF celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride throughout the month of June by offering a bookshelf of resources that honor and recognize LGBTQ+ language, culture, history, and heroes.

In addition, we celebrate Juneteenth, a combination of the words "June" and "nineteenth," which commemorates the day in 1865 when a group of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas had been released from slavery. On this day, Skillsoft reflects upon the abolition of slavery and the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the US while also celebrating African-American culture.

OFF THE SHELF recognizes and celebrates Juneteenth by presenting a bookshelf of resources which commemorate the end of slavery while also highlighting the continued journey toward racial justice and inclusive workplaces.
