Québec's Law 25 is the most recent and significant data privacy protection development in Canada. As individuals’ data becomes an increasingly vital commodity, stricter data privacy protections are being enacted in jurisdictions around the world. Employees working for organizations that are subject to these laws share a duty to protect the rights of individuals' personal data. This course outlines the purpose and underlying principles of Law 25. It identifies what entities are subject to the law, as well as the rights of individuals under the law. The course also describes measures employees can take to support their organizations' compliance with Law 25.
