Restricting traffic into and out of subnets and virtual machines (VMs) is a key component of a defense in depth security strategy, much like using perimeter and host firewalls in an on-premises network. In this course, learn about network security groups (NSGs), beginning with how to create and manage NSGs using the Azure portal, command line interface (CLI), and PowerShell. Next, explore how Azure Firewall offers additional network security capabilities beyond NSGs and how to deploy and manage Azure Firewall with and without DDoS protection. Finally, discover how to filter network traffic using DNAT, deploy and manage a VPN gateway, restrict network access with endpoints, and route network traffic.
