Pods are the smallest manageable unit for application containers in a Kubernetes cluster. Administrators must master how to deploy and configure pods. In this course, you will first be exposed to the syntax used in a YAML pod manifest file. Next, you will deploy a pod to a cluster both on premises and in the cloud, as well as to a testing minikube cluster. Moving on, you will explore the difference between declarative and imperative pod deployments. Next, discover how resources used by a pod can be restricted. You will then work with ConfigMaps and secrets that can be read by a pod followed by using the Kustomize tool to generate ConfigMaps and secrets. Lastly, you will configure pod environment variables, init containers, and a multi-container pod. This course can be used to prepare for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam.
