There are many ways to get a Kubernetes cluster up and running, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Proactive and careful planning will ensure an optimal cluster installation. In this course, discover which factors must be considered when planning a Kubernetes installation, such as whether to use a cloud-managed cluster or to install Kubernetes manually. Moving on, you will install minikube on a virtual machine to allow for local testing and learning. Next, you will use the Play with Kubernetes free online sandbox to deploy multiple cluster nodes. You will manually install Kubernetes on Linux and join a worker node to the new cluster. Then you will install kubectl on Windows to allow remote cluster management, deploy a prepackaged Kubernetes server, and deploy an Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) in the Microsoft Azure cloud. Finally, you will investigate how Kubernetes YAML manifest files are structured, review common Kubernetes CLI commands, use the kubectl command in Azure cloud shell, and view Kubernetes configuration files. This course can be used to prepare for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam.
