Hazardous materials are transported on airplanes in the United States almost daily. The proper identification, preparation, and transportation of hazardous materials affect everyone's safety. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) publishes the Dangerous Goods Regulations, which is a set of regulations that shippers, forwarders, and carriers use in day-to-day hazardous materials transportation operations. In this course, you'll explore the regulations, principles, and terms associated with air transportation of dangerous goods. You'll also learn about shippers' responsibilities, how to classify hazards, and how to identify and interpret information found in the list of dangerous goods. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by EnSafe Inc., a global professional services company focusing on engineering, environment, health and safety, and information technology. Please note, the course materials and content were current with the laws and regulations at the time of the last expert review, however, they may not reflect the most current legal developments.
