IOS troubleshooting techniques are important in resolving call processing issues in gateways, which work as a demarcation point for collaboration networks. In this course, you'll explore the components of the Cisco IOS Gateway and the methods to configure them. Use this course to effectively work with the Cisco IOS gateway, examining various elements in detail: dial-plan implementation using different dial peers, Primary Rate Interface (PRI) connections, inbound and outbound dial-peer match, digit manipulation, and selection of codecs and dual-tone multi-frequencies (DTMFs). Once you have finished this course, you'll have the knowledge and skills to configure Cisco IOS gateways and prepare for the 350-801: Implementing and Operating Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies (CLCOR) certification exam.

IN THIS COURSE

  • 1m 49s
In this video, you’ll learn more about your instructor and the course. In this course, you’ll learn how to configure and troubleshoot the Cisco IOS Gateway. You’ll also learn how to implement a dial plan using different types of dial peers in Cisco IOS gateways. You’ll discover the IOS gateway breaks the call into individual sections and then bridges them to connect the source and destination of the call with one another. FREE ACCESS
  • 16m 41s
In this video, you’ll learn more about the types of dial peers and their components in Cisco IOS gateways. You’ll learn all calls that traverse a voice gateway are broken down into two sections by the CCAPI, Call Control Application Programming Interface. The voice gateway breaks the call into sections called call legs. This means a single call will have two call legs, an incoming call leg and an outgoing call leg. FREE ACCESS

    3.  Configuring Dial Peers in Cisco IOS Gateway
    7m 43s
In this video, you’ll watch a demo. In this demo, you’ll discover the dial peer configuration in the IOS gateway to understand the components necessary for dial peer configuration. You’ll make calls from an internal phone 1001 to the PSTN on the number 9723335555. After configuring dial peers on the IOS gateways, you'll require incoming dial peers and outgoing dial peers. 4.  Working with PRI Connection and Voice Gateway
    9m 3s
In this video, you’ll watch a demo. In this demo, you’ll troubleshoot voice gateways and look at how to fix issues that may arise on PRIs and dial peers. We'll make a call from our internal phone out to the PSTN. First, you’ll dial the number of the PSTN, 9723335555. You’ll see a message stating the call cannot be completed as dialed. FREE ACCESS

    5.  Exploring Inbound and Outbound Dial Peer Match
    8m 36s
In this video, you’ll watch a demo. In this demo, you’ll work with inbound and outbound dial piers on the voice gateway. First, you’ll make a call from the internal phone to the PSTN phone. Now, you have an inbound VoIP dial peer getting matched and an outbound POTS dial peer getting matched on our gateway. You can view the dial peer getting matched by taking a debug VoIP dialpeer inout. FREE ACCESS

    6.  Digit Manipulation in Cisco IOS Gateways
    8m 59s
In this video, you’ll learn more about digit manipulation techniques used in Cisco IOS Gateways. You’ll learn digit manipulation can be done at multiple points on a Cisco voice IOS gateway. Some global manipulation options can be used to impact the digits globally even before a specific dial peer is hit. You’ll look at some examples of this here. FREE ACCESS

    7.  Configuring Digit Manipulation in Cisco IOS Gateways
    10m 12s
In this video, you’ll watch a demo. In this demo, you’ll be manipulating digits on our IOS gateway. You'll be making calls from 1001 to the PSTN and from the PSTN to 1001. First, you’ll make a call from 1001 to the PSTN. You’ll click on "New Call". Then, you’ll dial the number 9, followed by the PSTN number 9723335555. FREE ACCESS

    8.  Codec Selection and DTMF Relay in Cisco IOS Gateways
    2m 16s
In this video, you’ll learn more about the codec and DTMF selection process in Cisco IOS gateways. You’ll discover the IOS gateway advertises codecs based on the codec configuration on the dial-peer, inbound and outbound. Codec negotiation on call legs is controlled by the codec command on a dial-peer, which hard codes the codec being used. You’ll see examples onscreen. FREE ACCESS
