Atwood's background includes radio personality, television host and anchor, and newspaper and magazine columnist. She also has served as executive director for state associations, editor/publisher of various trade and professional magazines. She is known for using humor in her work based on her experiences as a standup comedian. She is the author of three other ASTD Press titles including Succession Planning Basics (2007), Manager Skills Training (2008) and Presentation Skills Training (2008). She lives in Alexandria, LA
