About the Authors
Bill Carreira is president of Carreira Consulting, working with clients as an educator, mentor, and facilitator of lean manufacturing methodologies. With over 30 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and P&L management, Bill has worked with both fortune 500's and small, closely held firms across a broad range of industries. Bill's first book Lean Manufacturing That Works, published by AMACOM Publishing House, November 2004, enjoys best seller status as well as numerous positive accolades, such as "One of the best business books of 2004; CEO Magazine."
Bill Trudell has 20 plus years of experience in a variety of manufacturing and service roles in Fortune 500 companies ranging from Assembly line worker, Division Materials Manager, Plant Manager, Vice President of Quality, and Vice President of Operations. Throughout his career he has focused on continuous improvement and learning. Early on he became a student of Just in Time and Lean, and later Six Sigma. He has earned a Lean 101 certificate, is an ASQ certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and has earned APICS CPIM, ISM C.P.M., and ASQ CQA certifications. He is currently an executive with a manufacturing company in Sarasota, Florida, and manages Val-stream Improvement—a private consulting practice.
