William J. Rothwell, PhD, SPHR, is president of consulting firm that specializes in succession planning and management services, and he is a professor of human resource development with Penn State. He has also authored numerous books about competency, succession planning and management.

Jim M. Graber, PhD is an organizational psychologist with over 30 years of experience with private and public sector organizations. As president of Business Decisions, Inc., his areas of expertise include competency modeling, career development, and employee assessment and certification. Graber has taught at three universities and contributed to countless professional journals and books. He spearheaded the development of focus software, a talent and performance management solution used worldwide.
