At Skillsoft, our goal is to help people and organizations achieve their fullest potential through learning and development. Providing accessible content and technologies to people with disabilities is an important aspect of this goal. Our customers understand the importance of Accessibility and providing their employees with equal access to learning.
Skillsoft’s Accessibility Program Office is championed by Apratim Purakayastha, Skillsoft’s CTO, who has executive responsibility for Accessibility. This leadership helps to maintain Accessibility as a core value for our company.
SKILLSOFT’S COMMITMENT TO U.S. FEDERAL AGENCIES
Skillsoft is committed to creating and delivering eLearning and talent management solutions that are accessible to users regardless of age, ability, or situation. We measure the accessibility of our products against the WCAG standards issued by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and mandated by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, European standard EN 301 549, and the UK Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations. In line with industry norms we publish accessibility conformance reports (ACRs) based on the Information Technology Industry Council’s Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) standard. These ACRs are normally referred to as “VPATs”. They detail the product’s conformance with the relevant version of WCAG, listing any deviations from the standard.
For example, the Percipio Learning Platform VPATs can be found at:
Other Skillsoft VPATs are available on request, please contact your Account Manager.
Please note that an accurate statement in a VPAT might not assure accessibility for a specific user preferring a specific platform, interface, or assistive technology. With over 120,000 digital assets and multiple technology interfaces, we are not able to guarantee that all of our products will completely meet current WCAG and Section 508 standards, or support every new assistive technology. But Skillsoft is fully committed to addressing and reducing accessibility exceptions as soon as commercially practicable. We welcome, and benefit from, all feedback and suggestions.
