Skillsoft’s second annual CSR survey asked professionals in a variety of industries and job functions to share how their organizations are approaching CSR. Our goal is to help benchmark our collective progress in corporate social responsibility so we can all have a more informed picture of the CSR landscape moving forward. Look at what we learned.

“DOING THE RIGHT THING” IS LESS MOTIVATING

Compared to 40% of survey respondents in 2022, only 13% of professionals report that their CSR efforts this year are driven by the desire to do good.

GENAI IS IMPACTING CSR AND ESG EFFORTS

30% of respondents use GenAI to support governance initiatives, in particular, to automate and streamline the data collection process.

BUDGET FOR CSR PROGRAMS IS INCREASING

55 percent of survey respondents say their CSR budgets increased in 2023, with training and education emerging as the top area of investment (41%).

ESG IS REPLACING CSR

50 percent of respondents say ESG efforts are replacing CSR efforts, though 70% publish an annual CSR report.

WHAT IS CSR ALL ABOUT?

The phrase “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) has emerged as a way to describe how organizations demonstrate accountability to society through economic, social, and environmental efforts.
