Skillsoft Wins LEAD Award for Exemplary Practices in Leadership Development
BOSTON – March 28, 2019–Skillsoft, a global leader in corporate learning, today announced that its Sales Enablement team’s “Leadership in Focus” program won 2nd place in the Best Customer Service Leadership Program category of HR.com’s prestigious Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) Awards for 2019.
Skillsoft’s “Leadership in Focus” program provided leadership development training to nearly 70 of Skillsoft’s global sales leaders and high-potential field sales personnel. Leveraging in-house design experts and the best design practices observed from its most successful customers, the “Leadership in Focus” program delivered continuous, blended learning utilizing resources from Skillsoft’s vast library of multimodal and microlearning assets, including courses, videos, books and Skillsoft Book Summaries. With John Maxwell’s Five Levels of Leadership as its guiding framework, the program also featured live leader-led virtual sessions, virtual discussion groups and learning assessments. Ultimately, it was estimated that the program delivered $540,000 in value by saving employee time and reducing/displacing the cost of more expensive training methods, and by developing and enhancing the leadership skills of its people.
HR.com honored winners for outstanding achievements in leadership development and programs in the categories of Education and Corporate at the LEAD2019 event held at The Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 5. This premier leadership awards program salutes the world's top leadership practitioners and programs and highlights their roles in developing their most important asset—people.

Special Olympics’ Leadership Academy honored
Additionally, Skillsoft customer Special Olympics was awarded 3rd place for Best Global/International Leadership Program and placed in the top 10 for Best Innovation in Deployment of Leadership Programs. Special Olympics’ Leadership Academy provides employees and athlete leaders with and without an intellectual disability across 107 countries with in-person workshops in addition to Skillsoft’s self-directed learning and mobile leadership development support. Skillsoft’s content and Percipio intelligent learning experience platform help the participating leaders around the globe instantly access ideas and solutions to their leadership challenges. Leadership Academy participants have generated $4.5 million in new resources thanks to ideas and knowledge received during the program, built 272 new partnerships around the globe and recruited 40,000+ new athletes.
