(ISC)² established the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) credential to offer a way for security professionals to display mastery of the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to implement, monitor and administer IT infrastructure in accordance with information security policies and procedures that ensure data confidentiality, integrity and availability. This professional competency is compared to a globally recognized SSCP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) to ensure relevancy across all disciplines in the field of information security. Successful candidates will be competent in the following 6 domains: Security Operations and Administration (16%) Access Controls (15%) Risk Identification, Monitoring and Analysis (15%) Incident Response and Recovery (14%) Cryptography (9%) Network and Communications Security (16%) Systems and Application Security (15%) SSCP exam candidates must have a minimum of 1 year cumulative work experience in one or more of the seven domains of the SSCP CBK. A 1 year prerequisite pathway will be granted for candidates who received a degree (bachelors or masters) in a cybersecurity program.
