The Center for Creative Leadership is the world's largest institution devoted to leadership research and education. In its nearly thirty years, it has worked with hundreds of thousands of managers and created practical models, tools, and programs for the development of effective leaders. Now, in one comprehensive volume it offers the essence of its experience. The Center for Creative Leadership Handbook of Leadership Development is a thorough explanation of the elements of leadership development; it details the many ways individuals can enhance their leadership skills and the many ways organizations can help.

In this handbook over a dozen talented professionals join forces to outline the Center's philosophy and strategies. They present six proven methods of leadership development and illustrate how those methods have been successfully used in the real world. They give organizations a systemic approach and a means for evaluating the impact of their initiatives. And they pragmatically address such urgent topics as leadership growth for women and people of color, cross-cultural leadership development, and the development of global leaders.

From the editors' opening overview to their closing glimpse of the future, readers will acquire an in-depth understanding of the key components of successful leadership development as well as hands-on methods for designing, enabling, and enhancing their own initiatives. For human resouce managers, training professionals, and the line managers who are playing an increasingly active role in the development of their staffs, The Center for Creative Leadership Handbok of Leadership Development is an indispensable resource from the most prestigious organization in the field.
