THERE IS A GENDER IMBALANCE AT WORK

The annual Women in Tech survey asks professionals about their roles, challenges, access to opportunities, job satisfaction, and equality in the workforce. This report compiles their insights and provides organizations with solutions to encourage women and promote meaningful diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Gender Ratios in Tech Industry

34% of women in tech report that men outnumber them at ratios of four-to-one or greater within their organizations. Although this percentage has decreased by one point since last year, it underscores a stagnancy in gender ratios.

Valued Organizational benefits

Women surveyed emphasize the significance of remote/hybrid work (63%), flexible working hours (60%), paid time off (60%), medical benefits (55%), and professional development/training opportunities (49%) as their top five most valued organizational benefits.

Considerations for Switching Job Roles

37% are likely to switch job roles in the year ahead. Many cited department or company management, lack of training, growth and development opportunities, and compensation as reasons influencing their consideration to make a switch.

KEY DRIVERS OF JOB SATISFACTION

Women in tech are extremely satisfied with these job factors: job security (40%), work life balance (29%), employee benefits (26%), managerial support (22%), and diversity, equity, and inclusion (21%).

EQUITY AND OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN IN TECH

Survey findings show most women in tech around the world still report a lack of equity in pay and equity in opportunities as main challenges. When asked what companies could do to support and encourage them, guaranteeing equitable pay, offering professional development and training opportunities, and providing more mentoring or coaching at work, were among the top answers.
