Virtually every industry is required by law to conduct specific training as mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and/or the Department of Transportation (DOT). Companies unable to supply written documentation of having provided this training may receive civil or criminal penalties by any of the agencies listed above.
Compliance-based training is different from other types of training in that employers are required by law to provide specific training courses to their employees. This includes training specific to an employee's particular job, the hazards to which he/she may be exposed, as well as the ES&H laws that apply to their particular workplace and job function. It is critical that companies are able to track training status, set training and retraining assignments and produce accurate training reports.
